PARAMEDIC POSITIONS


 

Employer:                   Northeast Ingham Emergency Services Authority (NIESA)

 

Qualifications:            Must be 18 years of age.

High School graduate or equivalent.

Social Security Card

Michigan Motor vehicle Operators license with no restrictions other than glasses.

Clear driving records, and able to provide documentation of driving record.

Clear criminal records, with no felony convictions.

Completed Hepta-vax injections, and ability to provide proof.

Current TB test results within one year of date of application.

Must be in good physical condition.

No physical limitations, including but not limited to lifting heavy objects for short periods of time.

Vision correctable to 20/20

Current State of Michigan - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician License

Current Basic Life Support Card

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card

Firefighter Certification a plus, but not required for full time position.


 

Reports to:                EMS Supervisors

Hours:                       Full time -96 hours biweekly

                                   Per Diem- 12 to 36 hours biweekly


 

Duties:                       Provides Advanced Life Support as directed by the Tri-County Emergency Medical Control Authority protocols, including medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured; responds to emergency rescue situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury; maintains control, manages and directs patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency; provides training and instruction to lesser trained personnel; performs other duties as required.
